July
4th Parade, 2006
Over 85 residents got in the patriotic spirit and
joined friends, neighbors, kids, and pooches by participating in the 1st
Annual Kessler Plaza/Ravinia Heights 4th of July Parade! This fun-filled
event was held in Moss Park, on July 4, 2006.
The participants were lead around the new sidewalk in
Moss Park by a special grand marshal—93-year old long-time neighbor Boyd
Melbourne and his wife Lil. Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne are well known
throughout the neighborhood for the motorized tricycle built for two that
they travel on. Most of the parade participants were dressed patriotic
clothing and carried flags. And, not to be left out, many also brought their
dogs to also participate in the festivities! After
the parade, marchers and spectators visited while enjoying watermelon and
cookies, generously provided by Tom Thumb. |
